Books, Glorious Books!

Let’s see if I can get this blogging thing down to a science!

So these days, a lot of adults are saying that our generation should spend less time on our devices (like iPhones and iPods) and more time reading. Part of me really disagrees with this, but the other part thinks that this isn’t too unreasonable.  I mean, who doesn’t like reading? If the answer to that is “Me! I don’t like reading!” then I think that I can help with that! I have decided to put together a list of a few of my personal favourite books, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

  1.   The Unwanteds. These books are about a dystopian future where being creative or artistic at all results in you being sent to your death. If you are outraged by the thought of that, this series is for you!
  1.   The Land of Stories. They may sound a bit young, but these books are actually the greatest thing. As you may or may not have noticed, my tagline is actually a quote from one of my favourite characters in that book. If you are like me and enjoy anything “twisted fairytale-esque” then these books will be your next obsession!
  2. Harry Potter. I know, I know, everyone knows Harry Potter! But even though I’m only on The Order of the Phoenix, they’re still really good, and are a splendid series of books to get into!
  1.   The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane  is a page turner, perfect for any rainy day when you have nothing to do. I myself read it in one sitting!
  1.   Percy Jackson Is a beautifully written series that I’m sure you will fall in love with! Imagine one of your parents is a greek god, while the other is a human. That would make you a demigod. Then imagine you meet a handful of other demigods and assorted creatures and you have got Percy Jackson!
  1. The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May and June. This book is one you’ll wish was a series. It focuses on three sisters, the eldest April, the middle, May, and the youngest, June. they all of a sudden get insane brain powers that allow them to see the future, become invisible, and read minds. Pretty crazy huh? If you think that is even a little bit cool, this book would suit you!

So that is all I have for this list of books, but if I missed any of your favourites, please tell me in thecomments! I would love to extend my mental “to read” list, and this seems a good way to do so.

So long! Farewell! Auf Wiedersehen! See you all in my next post!
